Bouder is the verb ‘to pout’ in french (on parle le francais aussi here at Fotissima doncha know…je boude; tu boudes; il boude; elle boude…we all boudent!!). That’s where the word ‘Boudoir’ gets it’s name from ~ just in case ye were wondering like, coz we’re sure ye were. Boudoir photography is around for a long time, and before the invention of the ‘appareil photo’ boudoir would have been done by artists with paint brushes on canvas. By its very nature then, Boudoir Photography draws on the inherent beauty of the human form and is done to produce sensual images which aim to appeal to a person’s aesthetic rather than their sexual sides. For this reason it is essential that the photographs be done artistically and complimented by sumptuous surroundings and accessories to remain true to its origins and not descend into the realms of erotic photography, which is a whole other kettle of fish and we ain’t THAT kinda photographer thanks very much. Impeccable good taste we have here at Fotissima, chez Lola et Maj. Yes indeed.
