How CUTE are they?

How CUTE are they?

Niamh + Robert live in London so we had to nab them when they were home for a weekend. It was worth it. We spent a lovely afternoon in Moorehall chatting about the wedding and taking a few snaps. Really looking forward to the wedding. Won’t be long now. It’ll be great to get back to The Lodge at Ashford too; ’sbin too long!

Orla + Damien travelled down from Letterkenny for our pre-wedding shoot so I went up as far as Ballina to meet them at the gorgeous Ice House Hotel. The rain held off on what started out as a drizzly morning on the Moy estuary. Off we went out to Enniscrone beach for a stroll and a chat. Thanks Orla for being your lovely bubbly self. It was such a pleasure to photograph you. Fair play to Damien for going along with our enthusiasm for photographs with such patience and shhhhh, not a word to the boys at home! (Sure nobody reads my ramblings here annawezz
)

We are looking forward to Sarah + Niall’s wedding so much. Will it be ice-cream weather we wonder? Why? Oh, no reason…We just have a feeling that this is going to be a really cool, chilled-out celebration. Watch this space…

At the risk of sounding cheesy (and not for the first time), we have to tell ye that we are simply mad about our clients. We consider ourselves so lucky that the people who want us to photograph them are usually like-minded; the kind who appreciate our style and our (oft times) quirkiness.

We wouldn’t pretend to be the photographers for everyone. Oh noooo. That we are not. But that’s ok. We wouldn’t want to be. It takes all kinds and we believe there is room for everybody.

We admit to being a teensy bit tired going to meet Finbar + Jane recently for their pre-wedding shoot. It had been a busy day. We’re pretty sure they were more than a little apprehensive at the thought of it too, as most couple are.

Afterwards though we were all four of us buzzing and chatting away, completely energised by the whole thing. We think it shows in the photos too, which is important for our couples and for us.

We couldn’t say enough nice things about this couple. We laughed a lot during the session and we’re so looking forward to their wedding coming up soon – and not only coz it’s in Dromoland Castle *drool*!

Thanks for choosing us to be your wedding photographers Finbar + Jane. We feel truly honoured. See you both soon.
We managed to grab some time yesterday(in between showers that is!), to do Orla and Ger’s Pre-wedding shoot. Fresh off the plane from England the couple were bright eyed and bushy tailed and looking forward to the shoot. Well, sort of. Did we mention before that the men are usually a little apprehensive about this particular shoot? Yes we did. Ger was no exception. But we think he was won over in the end when he realised it was a bit of a laugh.

Orla and Ger are a happy-go-lucky type couple, who weren’t afraid to have a good old giggle at themselves…don’t worry we won’t mention that little incident by the tree, that’s for another day.

Toghermore Avenue in Tuam was the location for the shoot. The autumnal colours make for a great backdrop this time of year. And sure what better way to start the day than lying on the road on a pile of leaves in your Rock & Republics with an aul cuddleen thrown in? Naathin we tell ya!

There’s a great buzz around the town about this wedding, Orla being a Tuam girl and all. Saturday is the day and Tuam Cathedral is where it’s at. We’ll be hoping for a few dry spells on the day. But whatever the conditions, we’ll try and work some magic with the photography. And sure ANYWAYS, Orla has the wellies and umbrellas at hand for her and her girlies. Good craic. A woman after own heart.
Roll on saturday.
As we waited for Claire & Shane to arrive for their pre-wedding shoot we kind of wistfully remarked how cute the dogs were on our previous shoot and wasn’t it a shame there wasn’t any doggies today. Well! What did we promptly see popping its head up at the back of the approaching Jeep only Roisín the Labrador. Deadly.

Originally Claire & Shane’s wedding was scheduled to go ahead in Inis Oirr (the smallest of the Aran Islands, for those of you who don’t know). Quite partial as we are to an island wedding – in spite of nearly getting blown off the edge of Inisbofin last time we were there- we were looking forward to this little adventure.
When we first met them, Shane had himself a stripey top on and we (of the over active imaginations) we already envisioning swashbuckling pirate wedding theme complete with shipwrecks and everything (yeah, sorry shane, we know we never actually told you this out loud hehe). Still though, now that we’re going to be on the mainland, we couldn’t actually be going to a better spot because we’ll still have the sea beside us out there in Barna, and tracking down an auld boat or two isn’t beyond the realms of possibility for us either. There is also the added bonus of no sea-sick nightmare return voyage the morning after the wedding for the photographers…euw, flashback!
We went to Tuam’s old railway station again for this set of pics. What on *earth* are we going to do when they open that line again we do ask ourselves, eek?! It suited Claire and Shane’s funky style perfectly and we were only slightly mortified every time we called Claire ‘Roisin’ by mistake, so often were we calling the dog the get her attention. Oops. Sorry Claire. So long as we don’t let it slip on the day of the wedding ’twill be grand!
It was a lovely chilled-out shoot and we know that’s the way the wedding’s going to be too with this cool couple. Thanks you two.

We had such a lovely morning with Clodagh and Ed, having a bit of a stroll about the countryside, a chat and a laugh. We love the way they’re such a laid back couple who are happy to go with the flow and we came away really looking forward to their wedding. There’s going to be a big contingent from our home town there too so that makes it all the more special. Apologies in advance to anyone we know who comes over to us for the chat and we have our heads inside in our cameras…we’re not being snobby, promise, s’just us really concentrating on getting the best photos we can for Clodagh and Ed on the day. We do admit to getting terribly focused (obsessed) for those few hours. We’ll be all chat again afterwards!
We’re sure Ed didn’t quite know what to make of all this photoshooting business. ‘Tis far from photoshoots he was reared out there in Milltown sure. But he went along with it so good-naturedly that we think his gentle, easy-going personality really comes through in the photos. Thanks Ed. For being so patient. I mean, tisn’t every day you’re asked to just sit yourself down in the middle of a road, like.

As for Clodagh. Well this photo below shows just what a warm and bubbly person she is. Always ready to smile. Beautiful.

Yes, to smile, or to lie down in the mossy leaf-strewn ground, as you do of a morning! Thanks Clodagh. You are going to be a stunning bride. Roll on the big day.
You Tuam people may be forgiven for not recognising the ‘Brendan’ above, but if we said ‘Squig’ we’re sure you’ll know him all too well. Hardly the shy retiring type about the town like- ah Squig, you know we mean that in the nicest possible way! So anyways, he’s getting married to the beautiful Sophy soon and we took a few pics to get them used to us and our cameras.

Have we waxed lyrical before about our Pre-Wedding shoots? Probably. But let’s just give ye all a quick reminder in any case shall we, coz we can’t resist it. We do this with all our couples. Yes, they often try to wriggle out of it and almost all arrive in an apprehensive lather about the whole thing, but we stick to our guns and put them through it all the same. Yes. We’re cruel. But you have to be cruel to be kind you know. You do. At the end of it (the torturous ordeal doncha know *ahem*) they all, without exception, agree that it actually ‘wasn’t that bad’ and even ‘a bit of craic’ so that by the time the wedding rolls around they don’t take a bit of notice of us and our cameras. This means they have relaxed happy faces in the photos and THIS is what we want. We don’t want to see your ‘photo face’. You don’t either. That’s the face you’ve been putting on since forever to any camera pointed in your direction, and that’s the very reason you dread getting your photo taken in the first place. Your *actual* face is sooo much nicer. That’s the one we’re looking for. Also, some of the best photos are the ones where you’re not even looking at the camera at all. So relax. It’s quite painless we can assure you.Oh! Did we mention too that we love dogs? Oh yes. In fact we’ve had so many couples now who’ve brought the dog(s) along that we were thinking of making it a prerequisite for any further wedding enquiries: *don’t ask unless you are a dog owner* sorta thing. Never get away with it? Probably not. But we do love them dogs all the same! Squig brought along the ‘Ted’ the Terrier and Sophy brought ‘Fleur’ and ‘Monty’- her short-haired mini daschunds – gorrrrgeous. Too cute the way they’d both sit up on her lap. Loved ‘em. Oh, and Fleur even wore a touch of pink collar-bling for the occasion too. Our kinda dawg. Naaaw.
